The former Commerzbank building on Rhein-Neckarstraße in the heart of Darmstadt stood empty for a long time and is now alive with activity. Part of it is the amce studios office, which occupies a large portion of the first floor with 300 square meters.

The historic building, which for many years housed a Commerzbank headquarters, remained vacant for a long time. In recent years, however, new tenants have moved in—including the digital agency amce studios, which has grown significantly since its founding five years ago and now occupies almost the entire first floor.

The founder and CEO, Amelie Diehl, moved her agency into the landmark corner building in 2022, just two years after its establishment, at a time when extensive renovations by the new owner were just beginning. This early move gave amce studios the unique opportunity to actively help shape the interior of their own office space. “We started with 70 square meters and now occupy almost the entire first floor,” Diehl told the Echo in an interview.

Today, the agency presents itself in a modern and representative working environment that combines creativity, technology, and design at the highest level. Despite the challenges that come with a listed building, Diehl sees this as a particular appeal: “I was looking for something special—a place that fits our vision.” The characteristic corner building not only serves as an architectural gateway to the city center but also impresses with excellent public transport connections and a lively neighborhood full of cafés and restaurants.

In addition to amce studios, other companies and several apartments have now moved into the renovated building, creating a dynamic and diverse atmosphere.
